Lindsey lives in Orlando, Florida where she currently works with a non-profit Christian organization investing her life in college students, helping them to know and walk with Jesus. She is married to Kevin, and the mother of 4 children, 2 who are now with Jesus and 2 who are in her arms today. She writes, teaches and speaks to others on what it looks like to walk with God in the midst of suffering, and how to trust Him with our lives.
Tonight we’re heading out for Sophie’s first Daddy/Daughter date! On Thursday, for her 27 week celebration many people from our church family gave us, among several other sweet gifts, a gift card to a really nice restaurant in Epcot specifically for Kevin to take Sophie on their first date together (and I fortunately get to…
The last month and a half we have had way more Dr.’s visits. We see my regular OB and now go to our High Risk Dr. every month. So we probably see one of these Dr.’s every 2 weeks. We love these visits because we always get to see and hear our little Sophie. Our…
Mother’s Day 2013 was one of the sweetest memories for me. On a day that could have been really hard, my husband helped to make it extra special. And although tears still flowed freely there was such sweetness in those tears. Celebrating having my little girl with me on mothers day and celebrating getting to…
“… then Christ will make his home in our hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” – Ephesians 3:17 This was the verse written on a card from our friends Rebecca and Shereena as they helped us celebrate Sophie’s 25th week and the roots we…
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – I Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6 I’ve been thinking often about what it looks…
A friend of ours from church, Emily had told us to set aside Thursday afternoon (Sophie’s 24 week birthday) for “something”. Now, we had our suspicions as Emily happens to be closely connected with the Princess’ at Walt Disney World but had no idea what she had in mind. She told us to meet…
I’m not sure that anyone has directly told me that yet, but be ready if you do because I will have some gracious though firm words for you 🙂. I thought of that phrase that is often thrown around the first week we found out about Sophie’s condition and couldn’t help but think, actually, yes, God…
I think the theme for Kevin and I lately has been “overwhelmed”. Not in the overwhelmed with sadness sense, but overwhelmed with God’s goodness to us through people. We changed our weekly baby bump fun picture to a weekly celebration of Sophia’s life as we discovered our time with her may be short. It started…
“Hear O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall…
What better way to celebrate 22 weeks than with an ice cream cake and playing Taylor Swifts “22” song! Yes, I played the song with my phone up to my belly to make sure our sweet little girl could hear! (We had an impromptu name reveal with a few friends, best expressions of excitement ever!)…
