It can be challenging to know how to enter into the lives of people who are walking through seasons of pain in very deep ways. Kevin and I have been so thankful for our family and friends who have chosen to step into our lives in the midst of not knowing what to say or do and simply allow the Lord to use what they have to bring to the table to minister to our hearts in such deep ways. Each time someone has stepped out as God has called them to step into our story, not knowing what we need (because most of the time when they ask… we don’t know what to say), God has met us in those moments. Whether it’s been a meal, a fun celebration with Sophie, a note, a gift, it has been amazing to see the body of Christ be just that, the body of Christ. Two Sunday’s ago, Renaut, the Pastor of the main campus of our church, Mosaic, spoke on what it looks like to step into the lives of those that our hurting in light of a recent tragedy in our church and using several other stories (including ours) to call our church to step in in supernatural ways. The campus we go to in the evenings had surrounded us that night with a sweet time of prayer over our lives and Sophie’s as all of the other services at the different campus’ had done the same earlier. Though we were not at the main campus to hear Renaut preach, I decided to watch it two nights ago at 3am when I couldn’t sleep and it greatly ministered to my heart and reminded me of the bigger story God is writing. If you have a chance please watch it… to the end! I think it will encourage your hearts as you think of what it looks like to step into the lives of hurting people and give you a taste of the ways our church has stepped into our life. He leads people in a time of prayer at the end and then closes with some profound thoughts. We are so thankful for our Pastor’s, Renaut and Brady and their wives, Brooke and Jennafer who have stepped into our lives in this season in such sweet ways.
The message is entitled “The Missional Church- Mission”

Thank you for sharing this…beautiful and heart touching. 🙂 keeping you all in hearts and prayers.
Your faith really overwhelms me. It is easy to be a follower of Christ when life throughs things in our path. Both of you are such followers of Christ and you have such a deep and abiding faith. My prayer are with you through your journey. Remember Christ performs miracles. Keep up with your faith and you are in inspiration to all who follow you.
Praying she comes on her own!
Praying for you in this very moment. May the Lord’s will be done
Lord…You know precious, beautiful Sophie and her Mommy and Daddy. Be all that they need with all that You are….our gracious, merciful, loving Abba Father!
i am just one of many who has come to your blog via a friend. i believe as you share your story so honestly, and with such beautiful hope in Jesus, God is accomplishing Psalm 40:3, “…Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.” I pray it will be so. God brought your family to my mind this morning, and I saw you will most likely be induced today. Praying for you to know God’s presence with you each second. Praying for hope in the God who brings life from the dead and calls into existence the things that are not. Praying you remember that God is good, and that He continues to surround you with His people to love and encourage you.
Praying that when the time comes, you will have the same overwhelming peace that we had when our baby girl (with anencephaly) was born. I will always believe we touched Heaven… the kind of peace we experienced was not of this earth!

One of my facebook friends posted a link to your blog and said that you were expecting Sophia today. I am praying for you and will throughout the days and weeks to come. I’m praying specifically using the list you posted in “Sophia Kyla’s Story.”
Do you want the iPhone 5 for your birthday? If so in white or black? Let me know and I’ll get it. Love you.
Praying for you today! You are an amazing mother, and your sweet baby feels your love!!! Praise Jesus that Sophia will be in Heaven with Him the moment she passes…
Dearest Lindsey and Kevin,
I only read your story yesterday as a friend on FB shared it. And it seems that today may be the day you get to meet your precious Sophie face-to-face. My heart and prayers are with you. God has chosen you two to bestow a powerful testimony on for this walk on Earth! You have been anointed with a sensitivity to this condition in such a way that allow you the “right” to speak into other’s experiences and offer a message of hope through the pain. I am sure you have already been doing that.
Please take time to heal. Allow your body to heal and the process to be complete! Listen to God in the process. I feel He has more messages for you!
Blessings and much love,
